sonofadam: ((O.O)... Hold on)

Cain had taken a few days off to make sure Elijah was alright, and he would dare say his lover was very much so the past few days. They spent it together doing very little except each other, and that they did a lot.

Things were good, life was good. They worked out their misunderstanding and sure, while his lover will hurt over a past lover, Cain did his best to ease that. Soon it will be over and Cain didn't think things could get better except getting out from under this world.

Be careful what one wishes for.

It was a strange light headed sensation that overtook him first and then the world was fading out from around him. He heard Elijah's question like it was from a distance, and he tried to call out to him. "Elijah!!" Did he hear? Cain couldn't be sure, things were very distant now, and it was like he was being pulled away.

He lost consciousness a few seconds later and woke up to the brightness of a sun shining on him, beating down with shadeless ferocity and he groaned, opening his eyes in a squint. He was outdoors, but upon sitting up, he realized he wasn't anywhere near the city. Or any building for that matter. To his right was a thick forest like nothing he had seen in the likes of Duplicity, or hadn't seen since humanity had developed weapon and equipment for deforestation. To his left was a rocky landscape full of broken rocks and scraggly plants. There was plenty for conver, not nothing moved.

"Elijah?" Cain sat up, panicking when he realized he was alone. No one, not a single soul within sight. "Elijah!!" He shouted again, panic raising when they're was no response.

Where was he? What happened? Was he kicked out of the city somehow... Then where was Elijah? Desperation ate at him as he scrambled to his feet, trying to figure out what and where he was. Was he still in the same world? What if he wasn't. The more he thought the more he got worked up. Should he move, should he stay... "ELIJAH!!!"
