Surely it was lucky that Elijah had the strength and stance of a vampire, otherwise the smaller man would have toppled when the brute force that was Cain slammed into him with all his fear, love and relief-- the exact same affections were returned when the hybrid leaned forward to catch him, arms extended wide as he swept the large man up into his embrace and spun him around like a jock and his high school sweetheart.
"I thought my life was forfeit when I could not find you. I wasn't sure how, but I did not want to live if you were not here." There was obvious strain in Elijah's tone as he answered his lover, turning to place a bevy of kisses against the open cheek tucked near his neck.
"I thought- I was all the way... but, I found water. You must be so thirsty." He placed Cain back on his feet, and ran his fingers through his lover's hair trying to keep himself from taking advantage of the other right here and now, just to make sure of him. It was so difficult not to feel the need to touch every inch of him here after feeling the desperation of not knowing, not knowing if they were going to find each other again.
