Elijah would have taken the sandpaper tongue and lips all day on every spot of his body if that's what was offered. He would never tire of kissing his beloved. The passion between them never seemed to even simmer down from the red hot boiling heat that they always created when they came together.
However, concern crested Elijah's brow when his beloved began to cough from the dryness in his throat. If he'd been a vampire, the hybrid would have cut open his own veins and offered himself right then and there. As it was he could only nod. "I do remember, of course I do. It's about a half a day's walk at your speed. How about we talk when we get there. I'd rather take you there quickly, and get you some water. Then we can do something about feeding you, and possibly me."
Lifting Cain as easily as a loaf of bread, Elijah took off and began the trek back toward the spring, water and tributaries. He paused a few times along the journey to allow them to catch their breath and let Cain regain his balance, never long enough for them to do much more than to cling and reaffirm their love and be on their way once more.
Finally, they reached the place where Elijah had slept the night before as a wolf, and spent the morning as a human. "Here, welcome to our very own little piece of paradise. The water is chilly, but refreshing and the sun dries you quickly. Please drink, it will refresh you enough so that we might go find something to eat."
