Cain tasted his lover's blood, just a mouthful, enough to help hurry the wound to healing and no more than that. Cain wasn't the only one that needed their energy, and he lifted his hand from supporting himself to rest of over Elijah's arm a second time, this time in assurance. "No," he argued adamantly against that apology, "You needed the energy. And I expect you to bring back the best this place has to offer in return, so it's fine."
They kissed and made up, and Cain put his hand around the back of Elijah's neck to bring their foreheads together and bask in each other's presence. "Your terrors are the same as mine, and so is your relief. I don't care where I am as long as I have you here with me and supporting by my side. If I have only one wish, it is that."
He kissed Elijah again softly, touching of their lips together, before he slowly released the hybrid.
"Yeah, I'm going to be okay. Now go while you still be the light, and make sure you don't get lost... Do you need me to shout for you every hour so you may find your way back easier?" It was easy to get lost with nothing but leaves all around them. It was remarkable that Elijah was able to lead them back to this water source in the first place.
