The yet was something Elijah merely dreamed about. It wasn't as if he had any realistic dreams of his partner suddenly enjoying the taste of his blood, or enjoying the rite of mating as vampires did. He understood that Cain did things to please Elijah because he could and Cain wanted to make the hybrid happy, and because Elijah was who he was, he allowed it to be that way. Elijah in return did his very best to make Cain happy, and to make his life worth living and not something that he dreaded any longer.
Taking his time to answer, Elijah first leaned against his lover and then spoke. "I think your blood is too special to ever be mixed with anything other than your own body fluids, or mine."
Next thing he knew Cain was kissing him like time was missing and they were the only people in the world. It was a feeling that Elijah missed when they were in Duplicity. There was no competition, no worrying about the future. It was just the two of them, and their mouths and bodies open to each other, touching and tasting, exploring gently what they'd begun over four months ago.
Pulling away with a relaxed smile, Elijah laid there and stretched. "It's going to be strange getting used to not having a rushed schedule. I think I'm going to like it." He leaned in and kissed Cain again, taking his time, but not as long this time around, squeezing their linked fingers tightly as he pulled away.
"I was never one to try working the land. My father only ever trained me in hunting and we never really stayed in one place long enough for us to really garden. I've grown some herbs, but nothing significant before."
