sonofadamPulling one over Klaus completely was impossible, not when it was human intelligence versus a hybrid's supernatural powers and senses. It was hard enough when Klaus was only a vampire, but added a wolf's ability and Cain didn't even try.
But that didn't mean he let Klaus in on all the details. Sure, the hybrid might have requested through compulsion to know everything, but Cain had spent six decades with this man and was nearly ten times the brat's age. He knew how to leave some details out... And push Klaus' buttons until the man was more frustrated than interested.
Cain didn't even know why he did it, he owed one Mikaelson no more than the other, but he hid Elijah's secrets from his brother and as a result took the brunt of Klaus' rage.
Elijah would find Cain deposited in his study, the human broken and ripped into, his millenia year old blood soaking into the wooden table.
Heart ripped out once more.
It was obvious what happened, and how he had been assaulted for more than just his blood. This was absolutely a message of dominance, that this servant belonged to Klaus in every way possible, and delivered in a place that Elijah was meant to receive. The fact that he didn't put Cain's dirty and bleeding corpse in Elijah's room was already a sign of respect for his brother's interest in sharing his toy.
