Even hearing Cain admit that he wanted to feel set both a flame and pain alive in the vampire's heart. It was a duel edged sword to one who was almost certain that was what he wanted and how he felt would never be completely returned in kind. Perhaps Cain might come to feel a fraction of comfort in the Original's bed, but Elijah doubted that love was there for the first human. That spark was transcendental, something that was just beyond reach. Elijah believed that it had been felt, but that it was only a glimmer that would probably never be realized.

Opening his mouth back up to Cain, Elijah's tongue played slow and careful against Cain's, languidly stroking it back and forth as he sought to taste and savor every bit of flavor the other man had, like he'd never get to taste him again. Elijah caught the hint of begging and heeded it's call, answering one desperation with another. He ran his pale hands back around Cain's neck and into the short hairs at the base of his neck before they parted.
"I will help, as much as I can. I will give you myself in every manner speaking, and do what i promised to do previously. I will take everything you can offer me, and offer you everything in return. I give you my word this time. "
